Job summary

We are looking to recruit a Locum Consultant in Community Paediatrics to assist in providing a comprehensive Community Paediatrics service within Hywel Dda University Health Board.

The successful candidate will join the Community Paediatrics Teams that comprises a team of 3 WTE Consultant Community Paediatrician posts in Carmarthen (including this one) who will work with Associate Specialists and speciality doctors, Health Visitors and School Nurses in geographical patches.

This is a full time role on a 12 month fixed term basis, 10 sessions per week.

Main duties of the job

We are looking to recruit a dynamic and enthusiastic Locum Consultant in Community Paediatrics to join our team within the Community Paediatrics Service of Hywel Dda University Health Board. They will be required to support the development of a sub-speciality interest in the community so designated with responsibility for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of illness and to promote the well-being of children and their families with chronic problems, supporting them to reach their full potential.

The post holder will work in close co-operation with, and support other clinical, medical professional and managerial colleagues in providing high quality healthcare to the Health Board's patients

This appointment is Health Board wide, however, the principal place of employment will be Elizabeth Williams Clinic, Llanelli, although other working locations including off site working maybe necessary and will form part of the agreed job plan.

Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales.
