The successful candidate will support the delivery of Nutrition Skills for Life as part of the local Health Improvement Nutrition & Dietetics team; where the overall aim is that people have the skills, opportunity, and confidence to access healthy, affordable and sustainable food for themselves, their families and their communities. You will deliver core interventions using principals which underpin the Wellbeing of Future Generations Act 2015 and support the goal of 'A Healthier Mid & West Wales'.
Applicants with a degree in nutrition and / or dietetics who are registered with either the HCPC or Association for Nutritionists are welcomed.
Main duties of the job
Autonomously plans and delivers training programmes, in a variety of different settings, appropriate to the needs of the target groups in line with the Nutrition Skills for Life, health board and national public health priorities. This involves the recruitment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of courses to benefit service users.
Delivers training programmes in accordance with agreed protocols set down locaaly, by Agored Cymru or other awarding bodies as appropriate.
Support the Health Improvement Nutrition & Dietetic team to deliver core projects, completing tasks which include resource development and assembly, facilitator training and quality assurance of accredited training.
Supports community workers to promote evidence-based nutrition activities and projects in their communities to reduce health inequalities.
Provides expert nutrition and health improvement advice to community workers, peer educators and health, social care and education professionals.
Supervises training of student dietitians, and other colleagues and health care professionals.
