We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and appropriately experienced Band 6 Clinical Research Specialist Nurse, on a part or full time basis based at Glangwili General Hospital.
The research team in Hywel Dda cover numerous specialities and study types from international drug trials to qualitative interviews. Personal and career development is important to us, with many opportunities for training and learning available.
It is necessary for the applicant to have a knowledge of clinical research trial set-up, protocols and their application to practice, alongside a working knowledge of local, national and international research regulations. They will have excellent communication and organisational skills, be motivated and conscientious with an eye for detail.
Main duties of the job
Set up, run and lead on research trials and clinical studies.
Liaise with doctors. nurses, pharmacists and other members of the wider MDT team.
Recruiting to time and target across a range of portfolio and commercial studies.
Consent patients into studies and follow them through their time in the study providing a point of contact.
Collect and process biological samples - including those from patients with COVID and influenza.
Data collection and upload onto a variety of systems including LPMS, Redcap, Macro.
Mentoring, Training and Supervision of other members of staff.
Raising the profile of research via presenting at events, conferences and inductions and building a research positive culture within the Health Board.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
