A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen for an exceptional individual to be appointed as a Primary Care Research Practitioner.

The role will play a key part of the Primary Care and Community Research Delivery Centre, Health and Care Research Wales' primary and community research delivery programme.

The post holder will require excellent communication skills, have a positive and flexible approach to the needs of the Service, be motivated, ready for the next challenge and enjoy working as part of a very busy team.

The post may close early if sufficient applications are received.

Main duties of the job

These will include:

helping to deliver plans to support and develop multi agency working aimed at supporting the expansion and enhancement of clinical research across Wales.

assist in the management of a caseload of clinical trial patients, as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

ensure high quality service delivery, working closely with the NHS R&D offices and local primary and secondary care research delivery staff

train and assess research staff to ensure their competency is in line with local and national research frameworks

Essential

  • Current relevant UK Professional Registration with the NMC or HCPC
  • Educated to a master's level in a health/social care discipline, research or management, or equivalent level of knowledge and experience
  • Good understanding of clinical research
  • Good Clinical Practice (GCP) Training
  • Good knowledge of health-related research
  • Working knowledge and understanding of the challenges faced by primary care providers and how these impact on the ability to include research as part of core business
  • Knowledge of NHS primary care and other primary care related services in Wales and/or the UK
  • Significant experience in working with multidisciplinary teams and cross-organisational working
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
