Job summary

We are looking for a part- time Senior Public Health Practitioner to lead our Health and Wellbeing Promoting Schools Team. It is a key role in helping to improve the health and wellbeing in school settings, supporting them on their journey implementing the National Health and Wellbeing Promoting Schools Scheme and the Whole School Approach to Mental and Emotional Wellbeing (WSAEMWB). Working closely with Powys County Council and education colleagues, you will find a supportive, positive environment where your contribution can make a real difference.

The post holder will contribute to the planning, implementation and evaluation of a range of public health programmes that promote health and wellbeing for school age children and their communities, in line with agreed local and national strategies. The post holder will take a lead role on specific projects or programmes within the team's workplan. In particular, they will lead on the implementation of the WSAEMWB and the National Standards for Health and Wellbeing Promoting Schools across all schools in Powys.

There will be close working with colleagues in the Public Health Team and other Health Board teams such as Dietetics and Flying Start, as well as developing and maintaining effective relationships with external partner organisations and agencies as appropriate.
