Job summary

A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen for an exceptional individual to be appointed as a Band 5Public Engagement and Involvement Coordinator.

The post holder will be part of the Communication, Engagement and Involvement team and will work to recruit and support members of the public, service users, and caregivers to contribute to research in Wales.

The role is to help people get involved in helping to shape health and social care research in Wales and to manage the communication with our research community.

The post holder will require excellent communication skills, have a positive and flexible approach to the needs of the Service, be motivated, ready for the next challenge and enjoy working as part of a very busy team.

The post may close early if sufficient applications are received.

Main duties of the job

The key duties are as follows:

o Coordinate administrative and data management support for all aspects of public involvement and engagement, including the coordination and development of involvement opportunities.

o Support engagement with diverse under-served communities.

  • Help identify, plan, and organise community events and attend networks which promote public involvement across Wales.

o Maintain regular contact with patients, carers, service users, third sector organisations and the public to support and enhance public engagement and involvement initiatives.

o Support the co-ordination of public involvement and engagement activities in health and social care research in Wales.

o Provide information to members of the public and researchers considering on public active involvement activities in research studies.

o Support the design and deliver a comprehensive training programme on public involvement for community members and researchers across the Health and Care Research Wales infrastructure.
