THIS POST IS FIXED TERM/SECONDMENT FOR 9 MONTHS END OF DECEMBER 2024 DUE TO PROJECT FUNDING.

If you are looking for a new role with the chance to make a real difference, we have a fantastic opportunity for an engaging and inspiring individual to join the Powys Health and Care Academy, hosted by Powys Teaching Health Board, as a Widening Access Professional & Clinical Educator.

The post holder will lead the operational organisation and delivery of the regional Joint Induction Framework across Health and Social Care and a suite of Health and Social Care qualifications and associated clinical skills as part of the Health & Care Academy local schools and colleges initiative.

Potential applicants are welcome to have an informal discussion about the post or visit the Academy facilities in Bronllys Hospital. Additional locations in mid and north Powys will be operational in due course.

Main duties of the job

Support the delivery of skills education as part of the Health & Care Academy, in particular leading the operational organisation and delivery of the regional Joint Induction Framework across Health & Social Care and a suite of Health & Social Care qualifications and associated clinical skills as part of the Health & Care Academy local schools/colleges initiatives.This will ensure that the Academy is widening education pathways into thesector and supporting foundations skills to be gained through supervisedprofessional and clinical care application.Work collaboratively with the Health Board's Clinical Skills Team and Powys County Council's Social Care Workforce Development department to create an effective learning environment within the Health and Care Academy. The post holder will train and develop new entries into the systems, including those studying as part of the local schools/colleges initiatives.

  • Registered Professional with current, active registration to the relevant governing body (NMC/GMC/HCPC)
  • Masters level qualification or equivalent proven demonstrable specialist knowledge of clinical mentorship, education or developmental practice
  • Proven ability to teach a range of professional and clinical practice skills
  • Hold a level 3 award on assessing competence in work environment or A1 assessors award or D32/D33 unit
