Job summary

An opportunity has arisen in the Integrated Autism Service within Powys Teaching Health Board.

This is an exciting, busy and challenging time and we are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Specialist Practitioner to work within the team.

The post holder will work with the integrated multi-disciplinary team, and to deliver psychological assessments, interventions, research and also facilitate some of the services group programmes.

The post holder will need to be confident using technology and will be expected to engage with people over the telephone and via video conferencing as well as face to face sessions.

Experience of working with Neurodiverse adults is highly desirable, as is experience of facilitating groups and teaching. A willingness to work with the rest of the team to develop innovative approaches to help this group is essential.

The post requires attention to detail, enthusiasm, flexibility and resilience to work with a developing forward-thinking service. The ability to communicate effectively, and build rapport and effective relationships at all levels is essential. The post holder will ideally have worked in the NHS previously and/or Partnership arena.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

As Specialist Practitioner, the postholder will provide specialist advice and guidance to the IAS team and other multi agency professionals and families/carers as appropriate. The post holder will: oContribute to the development, co-ordination and evaluation of specialist interventions provided within IAS. oSupport and undertake research projects ensuring interventions are evidence based and comply with NICE guidelines and professional standards. oUndertake a caseload to support IAS colleagues, toahigh professional standard usingevidence-basedpractice. Offer specialist knowledge and skills from theoretical and practical experience and contribute to the MDT and plans for individuals.

About us

The post holder will support and develop designated members of staff andprovide advice and awareness raising across agencies. This will include helping to facilitate group activities, contributing to planning and implementationof interventions.

  • Post registration qualification or demonstrable equivalent experience
  • Registered professional with experience within Child or Adult services
  • Knowledge of legislation in relevant areas such as ADHD, Mental Health, Learning Disabilities across Health,Social Care,and Education
  • Working knowledge of the practices and approaches of other key disciplines, professional and agencies involved in the care and management of Neurodivergent clients
  • Ability to undertake de-escalation and breakaway training

Desirable

  • Experience in providing support / interventions for clients who are Neurodivergent

  • Experience as a Community Practitioner ideally working with Neurodivergent clients
