Job summary

The post holder will assess, diagnose and treat patients within their area of specialist skill presenting to the community respiratory MDT.Responsible for running groups or classes (virtually or face to face).Providing an in-reach physiotherapy service to your local hospital ward as required.Act as a source of expertise in the holistic management of patient's carers/family and to provide specialised advisory service and education to patients, their carers/family, other health professionals, GPs, consultants, social care sectors, voluntary agencies and others as necessary.Educate, train and supervise Physiotherapists, Allied Health Professionals, Rehabilitation Assistants, Social Care Support Workers, Nursing staff, Student Physiotherapist and/or students attending work experience/observation.Educate, teach and advise patients, carers/family.

Main duties of the job

We have an exciting opportunity for a part-time Band 6 Physiotherapist to join our team in PTHB. The Respiratory team provides multidisciplinary management and care for adult patients with a range of respiratory conditions, predominantly COPD, bronchiectasis and interstitial lung disease and those requiring home oxygen in the home and clinic setting.

The Respiratory Physiotherapist will deliver quality driven, evidence based pulmonary rehabilitation in the community and/or digitally, providing assessment, diagnosis and treatment plans for patients with a diagnosed respiratory condition.

The successful candidate will manage their own caseload and will be expected to communicate with a wide range of people, including patients and their families, other health care professionals and external agencies, including acute providers out of county and will be involved in developing and maintaining close working relationships with all relevant stakeholders.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
