Job summary

An opportunity has arisen for a self-motivated, organised, dynamic and enthusiastic individual with a passion for research to join our team on a fixed term or secondment basis until 31st March 2025. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated individual who thrives on the challenge of working in the NHS environment. It is our ambition to widen the opportunities for research participation for our service users and staff alike, thereby ensuring equality of access to research for the people of Powys. This will require the growth of a thriving research culture supported by an appropriate infrastructure. We will provide the opportunity for patients to participate in research, enabling them to take a more active role in making decisions about their healthcare, help them to manage their conditions better, keep them out of hospital, and give a greater sense of empowerment and provide a positive and rewarding patient experience.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be involved in ensuring that any research undertaken within PTHB safeguards the well-being of the research participants, to include patients, staff and control subjects. This will involve supporting participants through the research pathway, in accordance with the research protocol and relevant legislation. Applicants must have proven research and management and performance experience, highly developed communication and leadership skills, together with the ability to organise and motivate others whilst helping to strengthen the research culture across the organisation.

Post is advertised as a fixed term or secondment opportunity until 31st March 2025 to meet the needs of the service.
