We are looking to recruit an exceptional Assistant Medical Director: Quality and Safety and Clinical Governance who has a proven track record of successfully delivering a complex portfolio.
The successful candidate will display natural leadership, drive and determination and will have successfully delivered a complex portfolio. They will display outstanding communication, negotiating and influencing skills that will support clinical and non-clinical staff to develop truly rural solutions for our planned important service developments. They will be passionate about patient safety and quality and will be committed to service improvement.
Main duties of the job
This post provides clinical leaders with a rich and varied experience by leading the delivery of local services and in liaising across networks with other Health Boards.
The post holder will be a very senior clinical leader in the Health Board. Working with other PTHB senior clinicians and managers, the post holder will lead medical clinical governance in PTHB (clinical effectiveness; patient safety; patient experience) and will support the Medical Director in discharging Responsible Officer duties. Working with staff from PTHB Workforce and Organisational Development, the post holder will lead the implementation of "Good Medical Practice" (General Medical Council, 2013) in the Health Board. Both Assistant Medical Directors will also lead work programmes in support of the Powys Health and Care Strategy and will support the PTHB transformation, moving care and intervention as close to people's homes as possible, shifting the balance towards prevention and early intervention. This may encompass local interpretation and delivery of National Delivery Plans.

Services are delivered locally through primary care and a network of community hospitals and community services. These include midwifery-led services, mental health, learning disabilities, children's services, adult rehabilitation, and frailty services. Day case surgery is delivered in our day case theatres.
