Job summary

We are looking for a highly experienced, motivated and committed individual to lead the growing Clinical Education Team. This full-time permanent position will join and be part of the wider Workforce and Organisational Development Team.

The post holder will be responsible for the coordination and delivery of all clinical education and training requirements for Powys Teaching Health Board. This will include the All-Wales HCSW Development Framework and the local Clinical Skills Framework within PTHB to meet the strategic objective of developing a competent and effective clinical workforce with appropriate levels of skills to meet both the present and future service requirements.

Main duties of the job

Specifically, the post holder will be responsible for leading the team to develop and operationalise all aspects of clinical skills and education programme delivery, including supporting the design and delivery of the HCSW clinical induction programme and other clinical skills development initiatives as identified.

The post holder will be a registered clinician holding current, active registration with the United Kingdom Nursing and Midwifery Council, the Health Care Professions Council or the General Medical Council; with an in-depth knowledge of the NHS Workforce Development agenda.

The successful candidate must demonstrate strong leadership, excellent communication and negotiation skills, have a flexible approach with the ambition to deliver a clinical skills and education programme that aligns to the Powys Health & Care Strategy.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Annual training needs analysis for clinical staff. The coordination of theclinical education budget and the development and delivery of clinicaleducation programmes internally and commissioning of external courses.
