Job summary

A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled and motivated Therapist to join 'Team Powys' in a Consultant Therapist -Rehabilitation role. The successful candidate will be the clinical lead for Community Neurology and Inpatient Stroke Services and will lead the repatriation of major trauma and complex patients back to Powys. The postholder will provide advanced clinical and professional leadership for Healthcare Professionals working across the pathway providing assessment, triage, and treatment for people with complex rehabilitation needs including the provision of specialist services. These teams will include community and hospital-based staff.

Through the Powys Teaching Health Board renewal and recovery portfolio, the post holder will actively participate in transformation of Stroke and Neuro services across Powys as a provider and commissioning organisation.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be a clinical expert in the management of stroke and neurological conditions with proven experience as an advanced clinical practitioner and will fulfil the 4 domains of the Consultant role:

Education, Training and Development

Practice and Service Development, Research and Evaluation

The role will be the clinical lead for the Powys Stroke and Neurological Conditions Steering Committee.

The clinical workplan for this post will include having a clinical caseload, supporting stroke inpatients Multi-Disciplinary Teams in Brecon Hospital and Newtown Hospital. Existing advanced practice skills are essential for this role however there will be support and opportunity for the post holder to further develop these skills in areas identified in your personal development plan and against population need.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
