Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide operational support to the Health and Care Research Wales Communications, Engagement, and Involvement Team.

The CE&I team:-

Aims to raise awareness of ground-breaking research across Wales that improves patient care and to encourage more members of the public to get involved in shaping research.

Lead the communications for the COVID-19 research effort in Wales, helping to recruit to vaccine trials and promote wider COVID studies.

The Health and Care Research Wales Support & Delivery Centre is hosted by Powys Teaching Health Board which is one of Wales's seven health boards, and funded by Welsh Government. Our headquarters is in Cardiff but we have offices across Wales. The post holder will have a base in one of the Cardiff, Brecon or Bangor offices (confirmed on recruitment) but will also be able to work from home.

  • Training in Communications, Journalism, PR or Marketing field to diploma level or equivalent experience

  • Experience in a role supporting a communications /PR function
  • Experience of helping to organise events
  • Experience of writing content for a variety of sources i.e. publications, reports, campaign material
  • Evidence of working as part of a team
  • Experience of creating content for digital channels
  • Experience of maintaining and uploading content to websites

  • Experience of working within the NHS / public sector

  • Available and willing to travel regularly to locations in Wales and the UK
