Job summary
We are delighted to be offering a permanent 0.8 position for a highly skilled and compassionate Speech and Language Therapist to join our small and friendly adult team within PTHB. You will become our adult dysphagia clinical lead and will be responsible for leading and developing our core community service and further develop your management and leadership skills. We deliver the service in a variety of settings including, in-patient community hospitals, outpatient clinics and home visits. We are a small friendly team who welcome passion, patient centred initiatives and evidence-based practice to support the delivery of our community service. Main duties of the job
You will work within the adult Speech and Language Therapy team providing highly specialist assessment, diagnosis and management of patients within the community. You will deliver highly specialist assessments and management for both communication and dysphagia difficulties. You will work alongside our Stroke and Neuro SLT lead and develop the core community service throughout Powys, clinically working within the North and Mid of Powys. You will provide clinical support, second opinions and supervision for other members of the SLT team. We are looking for someone who has strong clinical skills and has a clear vision for how community services can be developed. You will also be responsible for operationally managing some of the adult team.
An element of this role will also be a supporting students and placement educators within Speech and Language Therapy. You will work with our current student coordinators and be the direct link with the Universities supporting the coordination of student placements, supporting practitioners to undertake the clinical education role in the SLT workplace, and will assist in the development of positive learning environments.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post. Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
