Job summary

To ensure that the reception area of the Practice runs smoothly, provides a high level of service to patients, doctors, nurses and other members of the Practice team

Main duties of the job

Dee Valley Medical Practice is a progressive, dynamic training practice that values teamwork. We have 3 GP Partner’s, 1 ANP (prescribing), 1 Nurse Practitioner (prescribing), 2 nurses, 2 HCA & approximately 6,700 patients; the practice operates from two sites, Overton and Bangor-on-Dee (Dispensary).

The practice is seeking to appoint two Part-Time Receptionists to join our existing team to provide maternity cover. Although on appointment the role will be for a fixed term (of at least 52 weeks) there may be opportunity for continued employment dependent upon business circumstances. The role includes 10 hours per week staffing our Post Office Counter for at least one appointee. We will be pleased to accept application from both experienced receptionists and/or Post Office assistants and also from trainees who can demonstrate previous experience working in a high tempo environment requiring accuracy and attention to detail.

About us

Our main surgery is in the village of Overton on Dee, 7 miles outside Wrexham, near the North Shropshire border. We moved into new premises on this site in January 2005 and share the site with Rowlands Pharmacy and some of the Community Nursing team.We have over 6500 patients on our list covering a large geographical area including into North Shropshire. We have a branch Surgery/Dispensary in Chapel House, High Street, Bangor on Dee, a couple of miles from Overton. The partnership is three strong and as a training practice we usually have two GPST complimenting our team. We have a strong nursing team led by a very experienced ANP supported by 2 nurse practitioners, 2 nurses and 2 HCA
