Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board

Medical Education Fellow

The closing date is 29 April 2026

Job summary

With the North Wales Medical School (based in Bangor University) having opened to its first intake of students in September 2024, this is an extraordinarily exciting time to be involved medical education in our Health Board. Medical education is widely recognised as a vital part of every clinician's role, and professionalisation and preparation for this is usually assumed rather than proven. Educational qualification provides a strong foundation for current and future educators; this fellowship offers this opportunity, provides a wealth of experience in medical education and scope to develop skills mentoring and supervising junior colleagues.

Main duties of the job

The post would be particularly well-suited to doctors several years into their post-foundation programme careers, who can demonstrate prior commitment to clinical education, and/ or who have previously undertaken substantive posts involving a regular commitment to medical education.

It should be noted that this post represents a less than full-time appointment (equivalent to 0.6 WTE) and does not include any clinical commitments.
