Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Registered Nurse to join our friendly and expanding team within the Emergency Department as a Deputy Sister / Charge Nurse.

The Emergency Department is looking for a highly motivated individual who thrive in fast-paced environments and wish to contribute to our vision of providing compassionate nursing care. We are seeking to recruit an individual who can make a difference with their dedication and expertise whilst upholding the trusts values and behaviours. We are a friendly department with a positive ethos and strong nursing leadership.

The workload throughout the department is very varied and interesting with no two days being the same. The successful candidate will need to have at least 18-months experience working as an RN, must be dynamic, possess excellent communications skills, and have a high sense of professionalism and a strong belief in the value of teamwork.

As an experienced nurse, you will work both clinically as a member of the nursing team providing clinical advise and expertise but also leadership to all staff and in partnership with the departments Senior Sisters / Charge Nurses. Applicants need to have a sound knowledge of clinical, leadership and managerial skills. Be able to demonstrate the ability to lead as well as work within a team: to supervise, nurture and develop the knowledge and skills of staff.

Main duties of the job

Emergency Nursing is a challenging and demanding speciality, but our multidisciplinary team will support you to develop and expand your Emergency Nursing skills. Excellent opportunities for personal and professional development exist within the ED. Training will be provided in the ED, and through the completion of intermediate and advanced life support courses. You will be supported by the senior ED nurses to complete band 6 ED competencies. It is also a requirement of the role that you complete the Emergency Nurse Practitioner course.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
