Deputy Head of Pharmacy, Primary Care and Community Services, (Central) - Band 8b
We are looking for a dynamic and forward thinking individual to lead on the development of safe effective clinical pharmacy services within primary care and community. You will operationally lead, promote and support the continued development of the pharmacy services ensuring a focus on patient care and outcomes. This will be achieved through team leadership and collaborative working with colleagues across the integrated health community. (IHC)
There is a strong ethos of development and innovation: we continue to increase the number of non-medical prescribers providing clinical services and you will support the development of advanced practice across all professions. We actively encourage career progression by offering funded places on the Independent prescribing course and the Advanced Clinical Practice MSc (run by Bangor and Glyndwr Universities). We have our own BCUHB development framework which supports pharmacists to map themselves against the RPS Faculty, all members of staff are encouraged to build a portfolio.
Main duties of the job
As part of this role you will also deputise for the Head of Pharmacy, Primary Care and Community with other cross sector operational leads, representing the role of pharmacy in the delivery of care as well as contributing to the resolution and direction of service delivery.
This is a part-time hours (22.5 hours).

- Registered pharmacist with GPhC Masters Degree or equivalent in pharmacy
- Post-graduate diploma/MSc in relevant pharmacy area or equiv documented experience in relevant area
Desirable
- Practicing member of RPS Management qualification or equivalent experience
- Teaching/assessing qualification Independent/supplementary prescriber ECDL
EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Able to demonstrate a suitable level of experience in providing specialist pharmacy services.
- Experience of working effectively in a multi disciplinary environment
Desirable
- Knowledge of pharmacy services to mental health and community services
- Demonstrable experience of managing conflicting priorities within tight budgets and/or time constraints
