Neurodevelopmental Practitioner

Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for 2 experienced practitioners to join the Neurodevelopmental Service across the east area of North Wales, covering the counties of Flintshire and Wrexham. We are looking for someone who is experienced, motivated and enthusiastic to undertake neurodevelopmental assessments with children and young people across all age groups and to provide support, intervention and advice for families and professionals. There will also be close working with multi-agency teams ensuring that service meets the needs of the client group.

Main duties of the job

Conducting neurodevelopmental assessments and offering intervention, advice and support to young people, families and professionals. To contribute to multi disciplinary team discussions and taking an active role in the referral pathway. Offering supervision to new and existing staff where appropriate. Liaising with other agencies within the community, such as children's services and education.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

  • NMC Registered Nurse or other professional such as S< or OT with relevant post registration experience

Desirable

  • Any additional relevant formal training within the area of children's neurodevelopmental conditions

Knowledge

Essential

  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the range, nature and impact of neurodevelopmental conditions and associated difficulties
  • Comprehensive understanding and knowledge of commonly associated health needs e.g. epilepsy, autism, syndromes and their health impacts etc

Desirable

  • Detailed knowledge of an area common to learning disabilities services e.g. epilepsy, PMLD, Applied Behavioural Analysis principles
