Pre Operative Assessment Unit Manager

Job summary

We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, and compassionateRegistered Nurseto lead ourPre-Operative Assessment Unit. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to shape and deliver high-quality, patient-centred care, ensuring every patient is optimally prepared for their surgical journey.

AsUnit Manager, you will provide strong clinical leadership, operational oversight, and strategic direction for the service. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to streamline patient pathways, enhance safety, and improve efficiency, while maintaining the highest standards of care and compliance with national guidelines.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide management and organisation of a clinical area over seeing the POAC Department.
  • Define and attain a high standard patient care through assessment, planning and implementation in compliance with Health and Care Quality Standards Wales.
  • Contribute to the education, development and line management of other staff members, qualified and unqualified.
  • Work collaboratively with others to meet the needs of patients and their families with minimal or no supervision.
  • Address the educational needs of pre and post graduate nurses and provide co-ordinated clinical supervision and development opportunities for other professionals.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
