Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for permanent part time Band 3 Health Care Support Worker working 24 hours per week within Caia Park District Nursing Team.
The post holder will be responsible for carrying out designated work, much of which will involve direct patient care. This care will be delegated by registered nurses and the post-holder will be expected to work under the indirect supervision of trained staff. On occasions take responsibility to undertake a task from a direct referral, outside District Nursing Team.
Full induction into posts will be supported, with opportunities for further career development.
Main duties of the job
Health Care Support Workers play a key role in the delivery of safe and effective care. As core members of the District Nursing Team, BCUHB (East) will recognise and value your contribution.
Your role within the community will be challenging and requires commitment as we develop services across the communities of Wrexham and Flintshire. Essential
- Level 3 qualification in a health care related subject OR equivalent experience and can evidence work based competency demonstrating theoretical knowledge, and the ability to undertake clinical care duties for the role which is gained through experience and worked based training /short courses
- Knowledge of the Code Of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers in Wales and All Wales Delegation Guidelines (HEIW)
- Knowledge of relevant policies and procedures within a healthcare setting for example the principles of Safeguarding adults/children to keep patients within their care safe, and confidentiality for example General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)
Experience
Essential
- Experience of working within a relevant heath or social care environment, providing direct patient care
Desirable
- Experience of working with patient groups relevant to area of practice.
