Glan Clwyd Hospital, Rhyl (main base), Oral and Restorative Maxillofacial Surgery - 6 months
Community Dental Service, North Wales. The post will mainly be at Wrexham Dental Centre and Buckley Dental Clinic, with the option of gaining other experiences at other sites. - 6 months

Main duties of the job
Minor oral surgery, day case oral surgery both under local and general anaesthesia. Management of elective and emergency, outpatient and inpatient oral and maxillofacial surgery. Including head and neck cancers and orthognathic surgery. Experience of a breadth of Oral medicine conditions. Outpatient management of oral and maxillofacial conditions including a large number of skin cancers.N15B: Community Dental Service, North Wales, various sites - 6 months:The time spent within North Wales CDS will provide experience in the treatment of a full range of patients within eligible vulnerable and 'Special Care' groups, including children and young people, the frail older person, people with learning disabilities, mental health problems, anxiety/behavioural issues and complex medical and social histories. There are opportunities to gain a broad experience in the use of inhalation sedation and short case general anaesthetic cases. The appointee may also be involved in intravenous sedation, comprehensive general anaesthetic cases, oral surgery treatments, domiciliary care provision and oral health promotion. The post-holder may also take the opportunity to gain experience working in HMP Berwyn and contribute to local quality improvement initiatives. The North Wales Community Dental Service is involved with the Welsh Government funded National Oral Health Improvement Programme "Designed to Smile" which targets young children in high need areas and the National Programme for older people in care homes, as well as a number of other local oral health initiatives.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
