Job summary

We have a fantastic opportunity for a GPhC registered Pharmacist to join the Pharmacy Technical Services team in our Pharmacy Production Unit, at Glan Clwyd Hospital.

The services provided within the unit include SACT preparation, parenteral nutrition, RadioPharmacy, general CIVAS, and the unit also holds a specials manufacturing licence for non-sterile activity. We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate individual who is self-motivated and shares our focus on developing the service through putting the needs of our patients first. This role will support the Lead Production Pharmacist with our Pharmaceutical Quality System (PQS). The successful applicant will also be able to help shape the future service model as the TrAMS programme develops.

Main duties of the job

This post offers developmental opportunity for a registered GPhC Pharmacist currently working at Band 6 level, who wishes to progress to Band 7 through a structured development plan over a 12 month period, and starting salary will depend on the successful candidate's experience. As a registered GPhC pharmacist working within Technical Services, you will perform the role of an authorised pharmacist and must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of the legal framework that supports good practice within a production unit. This technical services pharmacist role will also provide key operational support for all aspects of production activity, including both aseptic and non-sterile preparation of products.

We are looking for an individual who will contribute to and work well within our existing team and help to develop both the quality and range of services we offer. You must be able to work to a high standard, have good organisational and communication skills, an eye for detail, good accuracy skills and ability to use your own initiative whilst working to time schedules and under pressure.
