Job summary
To provide professional and clinical services in the care and management of patients who have been found to have Breast Disease. Provide expert knowledge, support and information to patients, families and the nursing/medical profession. Lead and organise the service in the absence of the Band 7.
Contribute to the development of a service that requires autonomy and clinical excellence.
The Clinical Nurse Specialist works across BCUHB within a clinical specialty acting in the roles of practitioner, educator, consultant, researcher, leader/change agent and care coordinator/case manager in the pursuit of clinical excellence and improved health outcomes.
Clinical Nurse Specialists are recognised internationally as expert practitioners, having in-depth knowledge of a speciality that results in expanding boundaries of nursing practice and the implementation of evidence-based practice and clinical research.
This position includes a clinical workload.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be required to deliver patient care within the field of Breast Care as a part of a multi-disciplinary team. The successful holder will be an integral part of the breast care nursing team and support both in-patient and out-patient services to ensure patients receive appropriate management and treatment, aide their pathway and contribute to planning optimum patient care.
The post holder will work collaboratively as a member of the Brest Care team to ensure both elective/emergency patients receive holistic assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of their care needs.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
