The successful applicant will support the Strategic Lead for Community Pharmacy in the development and implementation of new community pharmacy services across BCUHB. They will work alongside the Pharmacy and Medicines Management Team, and with the Primary Care and Public Health Leads within the Health Board and support the evaluation of pilot projects and continued roll out. This will require leadership, building relationships, and collaborative working across both primary and secondary care.
The role will include travel around the Health Board area, including regular visits to community pharmacies and other primary health care providers, as well as multidisciplinary meetings and desk based activities producing reports. The successful applicant can negotiate where they will be based, depending on the area that they will cover and job shares/part time roles will be considered.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
There is one full time role available, covering Wrexham and Flintshire, or Conwy and Denbighshire, depending on the needs of the service at the time of appointment
Main duties of the job
- Support Community Pharmacy Services: Promote delivery of safe, high-quality, and cost-effective pharmaceutical services in community pharmacies.
- Relationship Building: Develop strong working relationships with pharmacy teams and act as a supportive link between community pharmacy and the health board.
- Audit and Monitoring: Conduct audits or evaluations of community pharmacy services and identify areas for improvement, supporting implementation of any agreed changes.
- Service Development: Assist in the rollout and improvement of community pharmacy services.
- Cross-Sector Liaison: Work across sectors (hospital, social care, general practice) to resolve issues related to community pharmacy services.
- Education and Training: Support community pharmacy teams to access education and training relevant to delivery of NHS commissioned services.
- Communication: Cascade alerts, reports, educational materials, and changes in practice to relevant stakeholders.
