Job summary

This post is suitable for a Registered Nurse / Registered Health are Professional (named within the PGD).

Responsible for supporting the Nurse/Clinical Manager with the leadership and management of the BCUHB Integrated Vaccination Service within a geographical area.

A prime focus of the role is:

o Ensuring best practice in infection control

o Improving clinical care standards

o Treating clients with dignity and respect

Assess, plan, implement and evaluate evidenced-based clinical care within a quality, recovery focused service for citizens .

The post holder will contribute to the education, development and line management of staff within BCUHB Integrated Vaccination Service.

The post holder is required to provide leadership, service development and management within the BCUHB Integrated Vaccination Service.

The post holder will work in partnership with external agencies including independent sectors, across a variety of settings e.g., acute hospitals, Primary Care and Public Health.

The post holder will be supporting the Nurse Manager and Modern Matron in monitoring and ensuring that the service meets local, regional, and national quality standards including management responsibilities.

Provide leadership and direction to junior members of staff within the BCUHB Integrated Vaccination Service and in collaboration ensure that staff comply with LHB standards and take the appropriate corrective action where required.

Main duties of the job

Designated to take charge on a regular basis in the absence of the person with continuing responsibility for the management and organisation of the clinical area/ case load.

Analyse complex clinical situations which require analysis and where necessary interpret data leading to a decision being made on the viable options.

Responsible for the assessment of the patients nursing care needs, and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care to meet those nursing needs.

Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, encouraging and where required participating in therapies ensuring that they are delivered effectively.

Participate in the development of educational programmes for use within the clinical area.

Act as a supervisor, mentor, assessor aiding reflection and supervising practice and assessing competence where appropriate.

Will be required to cover other clinical areas where the senior nursing staff identify the need.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
