Job summary
The post holder will be a fully competent clinical staff member who will provide effective leadership in support of the Band 7 Senior Sister deputizing in their absence, supervising a team of nurses to ensure best standards of specialized care is provided.
Work collaboratively and co-operatively with the Senior Unit Sister and Matron to develop services provided for patients within the endoscopy unit. Will demonstrate significant clinical Endoscopy experience and achieved documented and evidenced competency in all aspects of endoscopy nursing.
Provide sound clinical expertise to their team and be a role model for expert clinical care within the Endoscopy department, and lead on specific projects / management functions as delegated by the Senior Sister / Charge Nurse.
Demonstrate a significant level of specialist clinical knowledge and expertise in the clinical functions of care delivery including knowledge of JAG/GRS/Decontamination. They will provide advice and guidance and be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care for all patients within the Endoscopy department.

Who can demonstrate a kind and compassionate attitude with their skills and experience to provide clinical leadership to ensure care is delivered effectively and efficiently within the unit. Evidence of proven experience within endoscopy is crucial.
