Job summary

This post is fixed term / secondment until 16.02.2026 due to Maternity Cover.

This is an exciting opportunity for a secondment within the community paediatric physiotherapy service to cover maternity leave until June 2026. The post is suitable for a physiotherapist who has had some experience within the speciality, such as a band 5 rotation.

You will work in a supportive environment to acquire and develop knowledge and skills related to treating children and young people with disabilities in the community/school environment.

A willingness and desire to learn is essential for this post. You will be supported in this by senior members of the team/clinical specialist.

Main duties of the job

You will be expected to take an active role in the assessment and treatment of children and young adults living in Denbighshire with support from senior colleagues. You will be expected to manage your own community caseload in a variety of community settings (including nurseries, schools and patient's homes) and provide service to the children's wards at Glan Clwyd Hospital.

You would be expected to contribute to the supervision of support staff and students within the department. You will also contribute and participate as a member of the wider multidisciplinary/joint agency teams supporting children and young people with disabilities.

As part of the role, you will be expected to participate in 7 day working where indicated and respiratory on-call. Training will be available if required.

Good communication skills are essential for this post. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post. Welsh and / or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
