Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and passionate pharmacist with a keen interest in clinical services to join our expanding integrated pharmacy team. You will become part of a unique team in a highly patient focussed role.

Working as part of our integrated clinical pharmacy and dispensary teams you will have direct involvement in patient care and influence treatment choices by being involved in decision-making at the point of prescribing.

The post will be based in the Central area of North Wales using Glan Clwyd hospital as the base. Working and/or living in North Wales (an area of outstanding natural beauty) has plenty to offer - leading the way in the UK for thrilling outdoor pursuits on the coast, lakes and mountains with city life in Chester on the door step.

Main duties of the job

Services are expanding and developing to improve patient safety and flow across the hospital site. We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced pharmacist to join our clinical pharmacy team who will relish the challenge of improving medication safety for patients across the Central Integrated Healthcare Community.

The pharmacy team are closely integrated into the multidisciplinary team and there are opportunities to support with guideline, protocol and service developments across Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board.

You will be able to work as part of a ward-based team and across the wider Central IHC, providing leadership and clinical expertise to other pharmacists and technicians within the IHC. You will have the opportunity to use your clinical skills across a range of different specialist divisions, including the Emergency Quadrant, Medicine and Surgery.

You will be encouraged to undertake quality improvement initiatives, review clinical practice and processes, develop staff and patient education and work with the relevant teams to review incidents.

You will be self-motivated with excellent communication, time management and interpersonal skills. The ability to liaise with and influence senior clinical staff, and of the multidisciplinary team and colleagues with various clinical background across all sectors of the IHC including and not limited to primary, community and secondary care is essential.
