An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated person to join the Healthcare Assistant (HCA) Education and development team. The post is offered as either an internal secondment for 12 months or externally to organisation, 12 months fixed term, full time 37.5 hours per week and aims to help support the development of HCA's across Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB).
The position will involve supporting newly appointed HCA's and Bank staff in accessing the All-Wales Induction programme, and supporting learners through assessment of their QCF. The successful applicant will work in clinical areas throughout BCUHB, both hospital and community areas and assist learners in their professional development. The position will also involve the applicant designing, developing and delivering developmental session as per All Wales Induction Programme to learners.

Main duties of the job
Contribute to the design, development, and delivery of training programmes for Health Care Assistant (HCA) and health apprentices within the identified Health Community.
Provide assessment and support to HCA's and apprentices in their professional development.
To implement care for patients, observe patient condition, record clinical observations and report to registered nurse while supporting HCAs and apprentices in the ward areas as part of the assessment process,
Carry out nursing procedures e.g. re-dressing wounds, blood sugar levels, as part of HCA education assessment and patient care.
Supervise clinical HCA's/Apprentices and assist in assessment and attainment of their learning and development needs.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
