Medical Engineering (EBME) Technician

The Medical Engineering (EBME) Team support all users of medical equipment in the acute and community hospitals within the Health Board, ensuring that equipment is always safe for use and that it performs as expected, maintaining the safety of both the users and our patients.

Previous experience of medical equipment is desirable but not essential, however you must have extensive previous experience of the repair and maintenance of complex electronic equipment. Support and training is offered ensuring excellent career prospects. The successful candidate will be appraised on a yearly basis, and with a view to develop their knowledge and skills where appropriate.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will provide technical support service in relation to a wide range of medical equipment throughout the East region of BCULHB

Duties will include:

The repair, calibration, planned maintenance and commissioning of medical equipment.

Provide advice and support users of medical equipment on the functions and maintenance of devices.

Assist in evaluation of maintenance requirements, investigation of incidents and trial of equipment.

Requisition spares and materials, accept deliveries of materials and equipment booking them in following set procedures.

Maintain knowledge and keep up to date with technical developments.

Have a flexible approach to working hours to meet the needs of the service.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
