Senior Assistant Respiratory Physiologist

Job summary

  • Perform basic lung function procedures in a variety of clinical settings
  • Assist with more specialised lung function procedures
  • Maintain, calibrate and quality control equipment required to performbasic lung function procedures to ensure accuracy
  • Maintain accurate patient information systems
  • Undertake administration duties e.g. posting results, answering telephone queries and other general reception duties
  • Assist with training of less experienced staff

Main duties of the job

Perform lung function tests accurately in accordance with SOP's, on patients of all ages in a variety of locations including:

  • Spirometry
  • Response to inhaled bronchodilators
  • Basic respiratory muscle weakness testing
  • Pulse oximetry at rest
  • Overnight pulse oximetry (this includes setting up equipment, downloading results and preparing reports for review by qualified respiratory physiologists)
  • Nitric oxide testing

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
