Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the Mental Health & Learning Disabilities finance team on a permanent basis.The successful post holder will be qualified with AAT or will have equivalent experience/qualifications. The role requires someone who is a strong team player with excellent interpersonal, communication and IT skills.

Working within the Management Accounting Finance Team will give the successful post holder experience and knowledge in numerous areas within Finance such as:

  • Understanding budgetary, cost and income control;
  • Providing financial advice and support to the operational managers;
  • Highlighting financial risks or identifying savings opportunities;
  • Investigating financial variances;

The Finance Department is committed to personal development and training, with the potential for support towards studying for professional Accountancy Qualifications.

This is a Pan North Wales Service so remote / hybrid working is available with the option to be office based in either Wrexham or Bangor.

Main duties of the job

Works within the Management Accounting Finance Team, providing professional assistance and financial advice and support to managers, and undertakes investigation into complex financial variances and analysis, suggesting relevant corrective action to Health Board managers as necessary.

To provide timely, accurate and meaningful financial management information within tight financial time-scales and ensure that work is completed in compliance with Standing Orders, Standing Financial Instructions, and Scheme of Delegation.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
