Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technical Instructor/ Physiotherapy Assistant to join the team at Ysbyty Gwynedd, Bangor.
The successful candidate will support the physiotherapists and the multi disciplinary team to provide physiotherapy intervention and facilitate hospital discharges. The post will involve working with patients requiring rehabilitation and may include situations including respiratory disease, geriatric conditions, surgical rehabilitation and symptoms of frailty.
Training and ongoing development will be available from a supportive, established team in a beautiful part of the UK.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
To assist physiotherapists and independently implement physiotherapy treatment programmes for patients from a designated caseload including those with complex presentations. This being underpinned by base level theoretical knowledge and practical experience acquired through short courses, in-house training and experience to NVQ level III or equivalent.
To set up and support the pulmonary rehabilitation classes.
To maintain clinical records within professional codes of practice and Chartered Society of Physiotherapy guidelines.
To ensure a high standard of care with each patient working with all agencies and disciplines involved.
Supervises and teaches less experienced physiotherapy assistants
Regularly undertakes and participates in evidence based projects and assists in implementing changes within designated term/area.
