We are looking to appoint a committed, enthusiastic and skilled musculoskeletal physiotherapist to our experienced CMATS (General and Spinal) Team, within the Central area of BCUHB.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a welcoming team of experienced clinicians, who work closely with our Primary Care practitioners, in addition to Orthopaedic, Pain, Rheumatology, and Primary Care staff and services.
The post would be 14 hours spinal and 7 hours general work. Applications for either spinal and general hours considered as well as applications for the working across spinal and general.
The CMATS service delivers triage and clinical assessment sessions for people with musculoskeletal symptoms and orthopaedic conditions, within the diverse and beautiful Central Area of North Wales. Our aim is to offer excellent assessment and triage of people with musculoskeletal problems within a timely manner; ensuring an appropriate onward management plan through shared decision-making.
We are looking for a person with excellent communication skills, who will have a broad background in assessing and treating musculoskeletal conditions, where additional competency in imaging, requesting bloods or prescribing would be helpful.
Main duties of the job
1. To take a clinical lead role in the assessment and treatment of patients where the caseload will comprise of mainly patients with highly complexpresentations. This will be through highly specialist / extended scope clinical knowledge and application, audit, research and education. It will require liaison with a diverse number of multidisciplinary specialities and integrated working with other disciplines and agencies.2. To work as an autonomous, clinical highly Specialist Physiotherapist. To work with the Advanced Practitioner Physiotherapist to develop and deliver a high quality clinical service throughout BCUHB. Leading by example; provide a high standard of specialist assessment and treatment of patients in a variety of locations. Using evidence based principles / current best practice and advanced clinical skills and clinical reasoning assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions3.To develop competencies for frontline clinical staff within the section in order to assess; clinically reason and effectively treat routine cases and identify those with complex needs where support may be required. Support staff to develop skills to identify potential serious pathology in patients referred for Physiotherapy4.To provide an ongoing rolling training programme and support package to develop appropriate knowledge and skills in the workforce within thespecialism and rotational staff base
