Job summary

Are you passionate about developing clinical pharmacy services?

We are seeking an exceptional and highly motivated pharmacist to lead and develop our well-established clinical pharmacy and medication safety teams.

As a key member of the Pharmacy Leadership Team, you will support the Director of Pharmacy to pioneer strategic transformation across all our pharmacy services in East IHC (acute, community, mental health, prison, primary care and technical services) by providing strong personal and professional leadership across our diverse disciplines.

The post holder will have a strong background in clinical leadership, management, and service development. They will have experience of working with senior colleagues, local and national networks across all boundaries on clinical and management strategies.

This is an exciting time to be involved with Clinical Pharmacy Services in Wales as the Health Board begins it's journey of transformation informed by the recent RPS Independent Review of Clinical Pharmacy Services at NHS Hospitals in Wales.

Requirements therefore include excellent communication and critical thinking skills, clinical credibility, strong interpersonal /relationship building skills, experience of incident review and investigation and proven system wide service delivery achievements.

  • Registered pharmacist with GPhC
  • Masters Degree or equivalent in pharmacy
  • Management qualification or equivalent experience
  • Post-graduate diploma/MSc in relevant pharmacy area or equiv documented experience in relevant area
  • A substantive level of experience in a managerial post

Desirable

  • Post-graduate management qualification
  • Independent/supplementary prescriber
  • Teaching/assessing qualification

  • A substantive level of post qualification experience in primary care/secondary care.
