Job summary
An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic, suitably qualified, experienced, and self-motivated Voice and Data (Network) Engineer to be based at Abergele/Bangor/Wrexham.
Working as a member of the Voice and Data team within the ICT department, the successful candidate will be responsible the development, installation, and on-going operational management and support of the Health Board's voice and data infrastructure.
Main duties of the job
Working as a member of the Voice and Data team within the ICT department, the successful candidate will be responsible the development, installation, and on-going operational management and support of the Health Board's voice and data infrastructure.
Ideally, the post holder should have a relevant Degree/HND and/or demonstrable equivalent experience of:
Data Networking Technologies (including LAN and WAN)
Network Protocols (TCP/IP and Ethernet)
Voice and Video Communication Technologies
Network Security Technologies (including Firewall and Intrusion Prevention Systems)
Wireless Networking Technologies
Additionally the post holder should have excellent trouble shooting and interpersonal skills as they will be required to provide specialist technical 3rd line support to departmental colleagues and 3rd party providers.
The post holder may be asked to work across all BCUHB sites and locations, therefore the ability to access transport (public and/or private) to travel off site is essential.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
