Job summary

The North Wales Cancer Treatment Centre is looking to appoint a Radiotherapy Services Manager and Professional Lead Therapeutic Radiographer.

We are looking for a well-motivated, experienced person to lead the delivery of the radiotherapy service for the patient population of North Wales.

As part of the senior leadership management team you will have full responsibility for the day-to-day operational management of the radiotherapy department with line management of approximately 50 staff, predominantly radiographers.

We are an all Varian department equipped with 3 Truebeams (all with C-Rad surface guided systems), 1 Varian iX, and a Gulmay orthovoltage unit. We run on Aria v17 utilising prosoma virtual simulation and eclipse treatment planning systems. We also installed a new Canon Aquillion CT planning scanner in April 2022. We are currently looking to replace 2 linacs and considering all options to include adaptive solutions.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

This management position within Betsi Cadwaladr University Local Health Board involves the full range of management accountabilities for the delivery of radiotherapy services across North Wales. It involves working with other members of the management team to ensure that Divisional and corporate objectives are achieved.

Responsible for managing the Radiotherapy Service delivery within the context of National and local service frameworks.

The post holder will work collaboratively with other radiotherapy departments in Wales to achieve the All Wales Quality metric waiting times for radiotherapy.

Contribute and influence future and strategic planning and subsequent business case development and operational implementation.

To provide professional leadership and strategic development of radiographers from practitioner to Consultant grades in line with the Radiotherapy Operational plan

  • Masters level study in a Radiotherapy/Oncology related subject or equivalent experience
  • HCPC Registered Radiographer
