Job summary

Two vacancies has arisen within the Audiology Service for full-time Audiologists to assist in the provision of a high quality Audiology service to the population of North Wales served by BCUHB. The post holders will perform duties within the Adult Audiology service as described in the job description.

Main duties of the job

The role will be performed in outpatient, domiciliary and/or in-patient settings across the area served by BCUHB, with the two bases being Wrexham Maelor Hospital and Glan Clwyd Hospital.

There will be responsibility to train and supervise other clinical staff where appropriate.

Clinical Scientists, Audiologists and Students who are close to completing their training would all be encouraged to apply. This is an ideal opportunity to further develop clinical and service development skills in a supportive and progressive environment.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for these posts; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

  • BSC Audiology or BSc plus BAAT Part I&II, or equivalent
  • Registered with RCCP as an Audiolgist, or registered with AHCS, or registered/working towards HCPC registration as a clinical scientist

Experience

  • Recent experience or assessment of communication including hearing status
  • Recent experience in adult hearing aid fitting and verification

Skills

Essential

  • Good communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Teamwork skills

Desirable

  • Welsh speaker
  • Some data base experience.
  • More advanced IT skills

Knowledge

  • Must be competent in all aspects of Audiology applicable to the post
