An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Specialist Haematologist Doctor based at Ysbyty Gwynedd, Bangor. We are seeking a dynamic individual committed to excellence in service delivery to join our team. All candidates should be competent in managing patients with haematological disorders and development of a speciality interest would be encouraged.
The haematology service is constantly evolving and this post, in conjunction with existing and new posts, will support the development of the North Wales Haematology Service.
Main duties of the job
The Alaw Unit at Bangor is a combined clinical haematology and oncology department attached to the main hospital. Main duties will include inpatient and outpatients, supervision of junior colleagues and teaching of medical students. The post holder will be expected to undertake some invasive procedures including bone marrow biopsies and lumbar puncture.
All candidates must have completed a minimum of 12 years medical work since obtaining their medical qualification, which must include a minimum of 6 years within Haematology as a Speciality Doctor/SAS grade or equivalent. The successful candidate must meet the criteria set out in Specialist grade generic capabilities framework.
