Divisional Lead Pharmacist Band 8B - Medical Division with support for ePMA - BCUHB East IHC

Are you a pharmacist looking for the next step in clinical leadership?

We are very excited to announce the creation of this new Senior Leader post within the Pharmacy Team in East Integrated Heath Community (IHC), Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB).

You will work closely with our established Divisional Lead Pharmacists - Acute/Emergency Medicine, Surgery, Community Services, Primary Care and Mental Health to deliver the clinical strategy, and undertake a regular clinical commitment in your current clinical specialty to maintain a patient focused attitude. You will also work closely with colleagues introducing ePMA across BCUHB.

We are looking for a motivated, dynamic and innovative pharmacist, with significant clinical experience, strong interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills and a vision for the future. You will be capable of leading a team and representing pharmacy internally and externally. Having a track record of quality improvement, service development and staff management will be an advantage.

This post would be ideal for someone looking to develop or extend their clinical leadership in this exciting new role, expanding on their understanding of pharmacy operations and demonstrating impact.You will be supported to develop clinical, leadership, managerial, research and strategic skills.

Main duties of the job

To strategically lead, develop and implement a high quality clinical pharmacy service as part of the multidisciplinary teams in the Medicine division

To lead on developing a strategic vision and roadmap for pharmacy services within the division, taking into account the diverse skills of the wider pharmacy team

To ensure the safe and effective use of medicines within the division

To lead and manage the pharmacy clinical team working in the division

To support delivery of the Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (ePMA) system in conjunction with the ePMA project team and the pharmacy leadership teams across BCUHB.

To ensure East IHC Pharmacy is represented appropriately during the pre-implementation and implementation phases of ePMA project.

To ensure there is wider clinical engagement with the ePMA project from East IHC

To act as a link pharmacist to the relevant clinical networks across BCUHB.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

  • Independent/supplementary prescriber

  • A substantive level of post qualification experience in primary care/secondary care.
  • Able to demonstrate a suitable level of experience in providing specialist pharmacy services
