Job summary

Applications are invited for the permanent full-time post of Rheumatology Speciality doctor at the Wrexham Maelor Hospital, North Wales. This post is purely within the rheumatology service and with no on-call commitment. It is a 10 session job. Please refer to the job description and person specification. This is an opportunity to work within a fully integrated multi-disciplinary team caring for patients with the full spectrum of rheumatological conditions, in beautiful North Wales.

Main duties of the job

The current timetable is for 4 clinics, each supervised by consultants and including a mix of new and follow up patients. The post includes ward cover of any rheumatology patients and the responsibility to see any rheumatology ward referrals with the rest of the team and again supervised by the consultant rheumatologist of the week. There is also an expectation that the post holder will help in offering telephone advise to patients and GPs as well as supporting the junior members of the team, the nurses and the allied health professionals.
