Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a registered Health and Social Care professional to join the newly establishing North Wales CAMH School In-Reach Service. You will work directly with education teams of teaching and non-teaching staff in schools across North Wales in Wrexham/Flintshire, Denbighshire/Conwy and Gwynedd/Ynys Mn to enhance the support already provided by our specialist CAMHS colleagues and other stakeholdersWe are hoping to recruit practitioner/s to our pool of bank staff to contribute to support and cover resource gaps in service continuity and support us in delivering our vision to schools across North Wales. You will be based working in one of our hub offices; Caernarfon, with the potential for agile working at a future date. There will be a requirement for you to travel to schools and other health bases within the BCUHB area. As an Education Mental Health Practitioner, you will be responsible for providing direct CAMHS mental health consultation, advice, guidance and training to education staff and provide indirect support to the learners attending schools within a given area. There will be an expectation for you to attend some of our training provision in order to complete all the necessary aspects of the role and you will be required to attend clinical supervision monthly

Main duties of the job

You will be required to travel across the region, however, consideration will be given to your personal geographical location when allocating work. Please note this post is predominantly working with adults, working indirectly with children through the provision of consultation, and building the capacity of education staff to respond to the emerging mental health needs of children and young people, a knowledge and/or experience of working with people across the life span would be an advantage.Consultations can either be fulfilled via MS Teams or face to face in schools. Other aspects of the role is to provide delivery of our in-house training packages within the school setting for education staff on a regular basis and conducting school visits which may include initial introductory meetings with school leaders

The ability to speak Welsh is essential for this post
