Job summary
An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic, suitably qualified, experienced, and self-motivated Network Architect to be based at either of the following BCUHB sites: Bangor/Abergele/Wrexham. This post is a permanent post.
Working as a key member of the Voice and Data team within the ICT department, the successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development, installation, and on-going operational management and support of the Health Board's voice and data infrastructures which are primarily based upon modern Cisco technologies.
Main duties of the job
Ideally, the post holder should have a relevant degree, and /or CCIE qualifications, and extensive equivalent experience of one or more of the following:
- Data Networking Technologies (including LAN and WAN)
- Network Protocols (TCP/IP and Ethernet)
- Voice and Video Communication Technologies
- Network Security Technologies (including Next Gen Firewall, and Intrusion Prevention Systems)
- Wireless Networking Technologies
Additionally the post holder will have excellent organisational, documentation, analytical and interpersonal skills, and they will be required to provide specialist technical 3rd line support to departmental colleagues and 3rd party providers.
The post holder may be asked to work across all BCUHB sites and locations, therefore the ability to access transport (public and/or private) to travel off site is essential
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
