Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual with a passion for public health, to join the Public Health Team of Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board.
As a Senior Public Health Practitioner you will provide public health expertise to implementing a Whole System Approach (WSA) across North Wales.
The role includes strategic systems working and thinking, strategic partnership working, managing stakeholder relationships and programme management - bringing together specialist public health knowledge, evidence and ways of working aimed at identifying and aligning priorities across the system for improved health and well-being across North Wales.
Main duties of the job
What we are looking for from you
You will be familiar with the systems-working approach and able to motivate and mobilise others to act. You will be able to explain the evidence underpinning our approach and develop purposeful partnerships and coalitions to deliver action. You will demonstrate a clear understanding of the drivers of overweight and obesity and the potential contribution of the wider system in delivering change. You will have substantial experience in public health and will hold a relevant qualification at Masters level.
The post-holder should be prepared to travel across North Wales, and will spend part of their time in the office and part of their time working from home, as well as attending face to face meetings. The position is based in the Public Health Preswylfa Office in Mold or Bryn Tirion, Bryn y Neuadd Hospital Llanfairfechan.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
