Job summary
We are looking for Specialty Doctor to come and work with us for a period of 12 months with further extension where appropriate.The successful applicants will work in a busy acute paediatric unit and level 1 neonatal unit.
We are happy to welcome doctors who have special interests that could be accommodated and would enhance our service, but those with emergency paediatrics, medical education, asthma or allergy would be particularly welcome.
Our Paediatric (Dewi) ward has recently been on Welsh TV featuring in a popular series called Ward Y Plant.
Ysbyty Gwynedd is located on the doorstep of the magnificent Snowdonia National Park and the Menai Strait. We are only three hours from London by train, or an hour from Chester/M6 by car.
Main duties of the job
These are temporary fixed term posts to support the middle grade 1 in 10 rota which attracts a massive 12 sessions in order to develop and maintain special interests during paid time away from the service delivery rota.
We expect all our doctors to actively engage in departmental educational activities and undertake an audits during their time with us.
We anticipate, for the successful applicant, to work on the Tier 1 rota for at least 6 months initially to help adapt to NHS (particularly if no previous experience of working in NHS)
