The Small Business Research Initiative (SBRI) Centre of Excellence is a newly established Centre and Team hosted at Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board.

The team aims to work collaboratively across all Health Sectors in Wales to identify priorities for challenges e.g. for unmet needs and provide support to challenge leads across the country who will be developing innovative technology solutions and driving innovation in challenge led health procurement.

Managing a SBRI Challenge is an exciting new way to use your project management skills. It allows you to work with public sector bodies to identify where the need is, and then working with businesses to build on their ideas on how they can resolve the problem that has been identified.

If you are up to the challenge we are looking to recruit a Centre Project Manager. This is a Fixed term contract or Secondment opportunity which will run until 31.03.2025. There is a possibility of contract extension depending upon success/ funding. Secondments will require the support of the current Line Manager.

THIS POST IS FIXED TERM until 31st March 2025 TO MEET THE NEEDS OF THE SERVICE

Main duties of the job

Key responsibilities:

  • Managing and leading on multiple work streams utilising appropriate project management methodologies
  • Working with stakeholders to drive faster adoption, higher use and proficiency of technology. Focusing on Health Board values, quality objectives/ criteria and standards at all times
  • Ensuring strong project governance to support decision-making, project delivery and escalation of deviations to plan outside of agreed tolerance limits. Highlighting problems and suggesting resolution at the earliest opportunity.
  • Representing Informatics by actively participating in LHB/National Committees, Boards, Teams and Groups
  • To provide matrix-management for staff within area of responsibility including within the Project team who work on or who are allocated to projects / work streams managed by the post holder. This will include challenging project staff (at all levels) to deliver their committed actions
