Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as the Spinal Advanced Practitioner Physiotherapist in the East Area of BCUHB, working within CMATS and Physiotherapy teams. The post holder will be responsible for the triage of spinal patients, assessment and management of complex spinal patients, training and support/supervision of staff, as well as the development of the spinal service in BCUHB.
This APP role (8a) aligns with the 4 pillars of advanced clinical practice.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will have a broad background of experience in Spinal Physiotherapy.
Clinical support and development is provided by Advanced Practitioner Physiotherapists with spinal interest from West and Centre areas, as well as from a Consultant Therapist and close working with other Advanced Practitioners in the East Area. This support is enhanced with regular access to Spinal Consultant Surgeons from The Walton Centre and Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital, with weekly spinal MDT meetings. Opportunities are also available to attend the spinal clinics in BCUHB with the Consultant.
The post holder will plan, lead and be responsible for the delivery and development of practice in the specialist area. They will fulfil the 4 pillars of advanced clinical practice and will provide advice to the BCUHB wide Physiotherapy Clinical Network Groups.
This is a clinical role, the job plan focus being clinical activity and the balance being research, audit, and education and developing the clinical models for BCUHB Physiotherapy. The post holder will work in partnership with the Physiotherapy Clinical Specialists to develop clinical services.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
