Main duties of the job

The Primary and Community Care Academy in North Wales in partnership with Hwb Iechyd Eifionydd is developing a Multi-Disciplinary Practitioner Training Hub in rural north Wales. We have two sites situated in the coastal towns of Porthmadog and Criccieth, both towns have some the most amazing beaches, hills, sunsets and sunrises Wales has to offer. However, it isn't just the scenery that is great about working in Porthmadog and Criccieth, it is the team at the Health Centre and our shared vision for sustainable primary care services in north Wales and the importance of education and training in delivering that vision.

Hwb Iechyd Eifionydd is already actively training multi-disciplinary team practitioners and is now extending its training team in partnership with the Primary and Community Care Academy to offer a range of training and learning and mentoring opportunities for the current and next generation of primary and community care practitioners.

The Training Team will also include a GP and advanced nurse practitioner Clinical leads. The Team will work collaboratively to deliver the range of training, education and skills enhancement opportunities at the Health Centre, regionally as members of the Academy faculty and will actively promote and undertake clinical research at the practice.

Thejob plan will include protected/dedicated sessions for the clinical and educational supervision of a small cohort of trainees, this will/may include Pharmacists, Trainee Pharmacists, Medical Students, Physician Associates, Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioners and GP Trainees.

This is a portfolio role and we would also be looking for the successful applicant to undertake clinical sessions. We welcome your application for full or part time hours but are looking for a commitment of 2 days per week as a trainer/ mentor/ clinical practice development lead. Additional clinical hours can be negotiated dependant on part/full time hours.

  • Must be able to demonstrate suitable level of experience working in the managed sector and/or community pharmacy

Desirable

  • Experience in relevant clinical area
  • Leadership and management experience

Qualifications and/or Knowledge

Essential

  • MPharm degree or equivalent
  • Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
  • Post Graduate MSc/Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent experience and/or qualifications
  • Non-medical prescribing qualification (or working towards)

Desirable

  • Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society & registration with the Faculty
  • Accredited or eligible to be accredited as a Higher Education Institute Clinical Pharmacy diploma/MSc tutor
  • Training qualification Leadership and/or management qualification
